Nahla is Captain of The Siren’s Scream one of two ships manned by the undead that have come together to rule the seas for centuries.
The Sirens Scream was a pirate ship formerly known Poseidon’s Wrath. The captain ruled with an iron fist and would never let a woman on the crew as pirate code thought it to be bad luck. Nahla Blackheart was a member of the crew but under the name Nathan Blackheart and a male facade. Some she was close to realised she was female but kept her secret. Among them was the last Quarterman Salty Sharky who had been replaced with someone younger, and now was lower in the pecking order. Also the young cabin boy Skippy had his suspicions as they hung out together often and smoked.
Eventually though the captain realised though and was irate. He had her thrown into the ocean by the crew. A few tried to stop it like Sharky and Skippy, but they unsuccessful, and were taken down to the brig. The rest of the crew cheered and drank as they watched Nahla sink to the depths of the ocean.
As Nahla grasped for her last breath under water, a school of Merpyres came upon her and made her one of them, but more. Now a Merpyre that could also walk the land she returned to Poseidon’s Wrath to take her vengeance. She single handedly slaughtered the entire crew. As the rage somewhat subsided she realized she also left those loyal to her laying. She turned those who had been loyal to her like Skippy and Sharky. She fed on the rest and tossed the leftover to the depths for the Merpyres to feed on.
Nahla christened the ship with the new name Sirens Scream and it’s rumored that wherever they ship travels, there are always some merpyres lurking underwater alongside the ship.
